The 15th Annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market, presented by Concord Pacific, returns to Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23, 2025 — marking the official start of the holiday season with free admission, live entertainment, family activities, and the first-ever free outdoor ice skating rink!

🎄 Event Overview

Presented by Concord Pacific, this two-day festival transforms Surrey Civic Plaza into a festive wonderland featuring:

• Surrey’s 60-foot Christmas tree lighting ceremony (Saturday, Nov 22 at 6:30 PM)

• Free live music and entertainment across five stages

• Free outdoor ice skating — bring your own skates and helmet or rent on-site

• Holiday Market with 80+ local vendors

• Amusement rides, food trucks, kids’ activities, and festive light displays

• Free photos with Santa (online booking opens early November)

The festival runs noon to 8 PM each day, culminating in the Surrey Shines Bright Show on Sunday night.

⛸ Free Outdoor Ice Skating

For the first time ever, attendees can skate outdoors on a 4,000-square-foot ice rink located inside the Holiday Market & Rink Tent.

• Free admission when you bring your own skates and helmet

• Rentals available on-site (limited capacity)

• Open both festival days

Enjoy an exciting lineup of performers across five themed stages:

🌟 Snowflake Stage (Main Plaza)

• Saturday, Nov 22: O Come All Ye Soulful — a powerhouse performance by Dawn Pemberton, Jodi Proznick, and band.

• Sunday, Nov 23: Divas: A Holiday Disco featuring Krystle Dos Santos, Karina Morin, and D’Arcy Han.

• The Surrey Shines Bright Show closes the weekend with Frosty and a fire performance!

🎶 Additional Stages

• North Pole Stage (Marcon) – Family shows & “The Nutcracker” by Fraser Valley Ballet.

• Candy Cane Dance Tent – DJs, dance demos, and battles.

• Grand Staircase (City Centre Library) – Local musicians and choirs.

• Holiday Market Melodies – Solo artists performing festive tunes for shoppers and skaters.

• KPU Photos with Santa: Free photos both days, 12–8 PM.

• Qualico Letters to Santa: Write and send your Christmas wishes.

• Craft Zone (Downtown Surrey BIA): Creative holiday workshops for kids.

• Toddler Town: Games and play areas for little ones.

• Sensory-Friendly Zone: Quiet space for guests needing a calmer environment.

• Meet Holiday Characters: The Snow Sisters, Frosty, and even a green & grumpy guy!

Shop for handmade gifts, crafts, jewelry, food, and art from local artisans and small businesses across Surrey, the Fraser Valley, and the Lower Mainland.

🍔 Enchanted Eats & Food Trucks

Located on Enchanted Boulevard, this year’s Enchanted Eats zone features dozens of local food trucks, serving comfort favourites, gourmet treats, and festive sweets.

🌟 The 60-Foot Surrey Christmas Tree

Be there Saturday, November 22 at 6:30 PM, when Mayor and Council flip the switch to light Surrey’s 60-foot Christmas tree. The tree will remain illuminated through early January 2026, symbolizing community, joy, and togetherness.

The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is the city’s premier holiday celebration and one of Metro Vancouver’s largest free Christmas events.

• Established in 2010, now celebrating its 15th anniversary

• Winner of multiple national and local event awards, including:

  • ILEA Vancouver Award – Best Public Event (2024)
