Disney+ is where the classics live. Between Disney, Pixar, the Muppets and the old 20th Century Fox library, it has more of the movies people grew up watching every December than any other service in Canada, including both of the original Home Alone films.
For 2026, Disney+ adds two new holiday specials for families: a Mickey Mouse take on Home Alone and a stop-motion musical from The Proud Family. Here’s what’s new, and the best of the holiday collection.
New on Disney+ for Christmas 2026
| Date | Title | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Sat, Nov 14 | A Proud Family Wizmas | Stop-motion musical special |
| Thu, Nov 26 | Sofia the First: Royal Magic (holiday episode) | Preschool series |
| Fri, Nov 27 | Mickey’s Home Alone | Animated special |
A Proud Family Wizmas (November 14)
Penny Proud goes on a rant about how commercial Christmas has become, and Santa quits on Christmas Eve. Penny ends up filling in for him. It’s a stop-motion special with six original songs, and the guest cast includes Anderson .Paak, Lil Rel Howery, JB Smoove and Gabrielle Union. It’s a send-off of sorts, too: Disney announced it alongside the final season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
Mickey’s Home Alone (November 27)
Minnie surprises the gang with tickets to a famous Ice Palace, and in the morning rush, Mickey and Pluto get left behind. They spend Christmas defending the house from a raccoon and a weasel who are after their dinner, while Minnie tries to get back. It’s inspired by the 1990 movie, so it pairs well with the original for a family double bill.

- Miracle on 34th Street (1947): the original black-and-white classic.

For the Grown-Ups
Because Disney+ in Canada includes the Star library, you’ll also find older Fox holiday films like The Family Stone (2005) and, depending on the year, Die Hard, which we’ll let you decide is or isn’t a Christmas movie. Look for the Holiday collection on the Disney+ home screen from November.
