Christmas shopping in Vancouver doesn’t have to mean a mall. From late October to the week before Christmas, the region runs two big European-style Christmas markets, a long list of artisan craft fairs, cultural markets with perogies and glögg, and a couple of shops that sell nothing but Christmas.
Below is every Christmas market and holiday craft fair we’re following for 2026, in date order and by type, with links to our full guide for each one. If you’re planning the whole season, our Vancouver Christmas Guide 2026 covers lights, parades, shows and Santa too.

The Two Big European-Style Christmas Markets
Vancouver Christmas Market (Jack Poole Plaza)
Running since 2010, this is the market with the wooden huts, the glowing three-storey Christmas Pyramid, a carousel, Glühwein and bratwurst, all on the waterfront beside Canada Place. The 2026 market runs November 16 to December 24. Early-bird pricing rises after November 15, so it’s worth buying before opening day if you know when you’re going. Full guide: Vancouver Christmas Market 2026.
Shipyards Christmas Market (North Vancouver)
The newer of the two, and free. More than 90 wooden chalets, an outdoor rink and Santa’s chalet on the Lower Lonsdale waterfront, from November 27 to December 24. No tickets, no time slots, and you can come back as often as you like. The SeaBus from Waterfront drops you right beside it, which makes a Vancouver-to-North-Van market crawl very doable in one evening. Full guide: Shipyards Christmas Market 2026.
Out in Surrey, Noël Surrey also has a Christmas market inside its festival at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, alongside the Bright Nights lights.
Best Holiday Craft Fairs for Handmade Gifts
If you’d rather buy from the person who made it, these are the fairs to know.
- Circle Craft Holiday Market is the big one: five days in a 135,000-square-foot hall at the Vancouver Convention Centre, November 11 to 15. Organizers call it Western Canada’s largest craft sale, and it has run for more than 50 years. Early-bird pricing ends November 4.
- Portobello West brings 69+ BC makers to the Roundhouse in Yaletown on November 28 and 29, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Got Craft runs two weekends at the Croatian Cultural Centre near Commercial Drive, with food trucks and a Mini Makers area run by kids.
- Hycroft for the Holidays puts 40-plus artisans inside a decorated Edwardian mansion in Shaughnessy from November 26 to 29. Half the appeal is seeing the house.
- Toque Craft Fair at Western Front, December 4 to 6, is a fundraiser for the artist-run centre. Bring a card, since it’s moved to card-only payments.
- Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair on November 21 ends with a festive tree lighting at 4:00 PM.
Cultural Christmas Markets
- Julmarknad, the Swedish Christmas Market, November 21 and 22, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM: Swedish goods, glögg and a Swedish café.
- Ukrainian Christmas Fair, November 28, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 3150 Ash Street: perogies, home baking, crafts and a sit-down lunch. Admission is free, and donations go to Ukrainian relief.
- Feliz Natal Christmas Market, Latincouver’s Latin American Christmas market, hasn’t confirmed a 2026 edition yet.
Markets Outside Vancouver
- Tri-Cities: HollyDaze (Nov 21, 100+ vendors, free), Blackberry Winter Arts Market (Nov 19 to Dec 22), Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair (Dec 4 to 6) and the Port Moody Christmas Craft Fair (Dec 5, every dollar to the Share Food Bank).
- New Westminster: the NWFM Holiday Market brings 90-plus vendors to City Hall on December 12 and 13, rain or shine.
- Surrey and White Rock: Christmas on the Peninsula on November 21, and the Winter Craft Market at Bright Walk.
- Fraser Valley: the holiday market at Winter Jubilee in Abbotsford on November 21, and the vendors at Cultus Lake Christmas the same evening.
- Burnaby: Holiday Hive Market at The MET ran in early December 2025 at Metropolis at Metrotown. 2026 dates aren’t confirmed.
Christmas Stores Worth the Drive
Two year-round favourites switch fully into Christmas mode in the fall:
- The Christmas Store at Potters in Surrey: 28,000-plus square feet and more than 50,000 ornaments, open from November 1.
- Glenda’s Christmas Cottage in Mt. Lehman, Abbotsford: a family-run store that sells only Christmas, open for the season since October 27.
Tips for Christmas Market Shopping in Vancouver
- Go early on opening weekends. Craft fairs are busiest in the first two hours and the best one-of-a-kind pieces go then.
- Buy tickets ahead. Circle Craft, the Vancouver Christmas Market and several fairs are cheaper online before opening.
- Bring a card and a tote. Most vendors take cards now, and a few fairs are card-only. Some still prefer cash, so a little of both is safest.
- Use transit downtown. The Vancouver Christmas Market and Circle Craft are both steps from Waterfront Station, and the SeaBus links it to the Shipyards.
