A Tradition Comes Home
Bright Nights began in the mid-1980s when Surrey residents Bob Wingfield and Marg Barrett, with support from Surrey firefighters, created a neighbourhood light display that raised funds for burn survivors. Over the years, the tradition grew into Bright Nights at Stanley Park, one of Vancouver’s most iconic holiday events.
Now, in 2025, Bright Nights returns home to Surrey as part of Noel Holiday Light Festival—continuing its mission of holiday joy and community support.
