VanDusen Festival of Lights 2024: A Magical Holiday Experience
Step into a botanical wonderland this holiday season at the VanDusen Festival of Lights, running from November 29, 2024, to January 5, 2025. With over 1 million twinkling lights spread across 15 acres, this festive event is one of Vancouver’s most cherished holiday traditions. New this year is an interactive mycelium installation and a light display inspired by the Great Bear Rainforest of BC, bringing the beauty of nature to life in a whole new way.
Holiday Highlights
- Dancing Lights: Enjoy three spectacular Dancing Lights shows every 20 minutes, starting at the top of the hour. These synchronized light displays set to festive music are a must-see!
- Themed Light Areas: Wander through beautifully themed areas, each offering a unique festive atmosphere, perfect for families, friends, and couples.
- Food Vendors: Warm up with delicious treats and seasonal eats from a variety of food vendors as you explore the garden’s illuminated paths.
Sensory-Friendly Evening
VanDusen Botanical Garden is committed to making the Festival of Lights accessible to everyone. On December 3, the garden will host a sensory-friendly evening for neurodiverse individuals, their families, and caretakers. During this event, the capacity will be reduced by over 50%, audio levels will be lowered, and flashing lights will be turned off, providing a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

- November 29 to December 24: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (last entry time 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM)
- December 25: Closed
- December 26 to January 5: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (last entry time 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM)
Ticket Prices (before tax and service fees)
- Adults (19 to 64 years): $28
- Seniors (65+) and Youth (13 to 18 years): $18
- Garden (VBGA) Members with Valid Card: $17
- Children (5 to 12 years): $11
- Children (4 and under): Free (reservation required)
Save 10% on group bookings of 50 or more. Children aged 4 and under receive free admission but are not counted towards the group discount.
