Canadian Pacific Holiday Train 2024: A Journey of Music, Lights, and Giving Across North America
The 2024 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is ready to embark on its annual journey, bringing festive cheer and community support to towns and cities across Canada and the United States. Running from November 21 through December 20, 2024, the Holiday Train combines the magic of the season with a mission of giving, as it raises funds, food, and awareness for local food banks along its route.
Decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, the CPKC Holiday Train transforms into a moving holiday wonderland. At each stop, the train hosts free concerts featuring professional musicians who perform from a stage built into one of the railcars. This year’s lineup includes popular artists such as American Authors, KT Tunstall, James Barker Band, Clerel, Tyler Shaw, Shawnee Kish, Magic!, and Sofia Camara, offering a mix of holiday classics and fan favourites that create a festive atmosphere for attendees of all ages.
The Mission: Spreading Holiday Cheer and Fighting Hunger
Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has been dedicated to supporting local food banks across North America. Over the years, the train has raised more than $24.3 million and collected approximately 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks. At every stop, CPKC donates to the local food bank and encourages attendees to bring monetary donations or heart-healthy food items to support families in need during the holiday season.
Event Highlights
- Free Concerts: Each stop on the Holiday Train’s route features live performances by talented musicians, providing communities with a free and festive concert experience. This year’s artists include well-known names like American Authors and KT Tunstall, as well as local favourites who bring joy to each town.
- Decorated Train: The Holiday Train itself is a sight to behold, covered in colourful holiday lights and decorations. The train lights up the night as it arrives at each stop, creating an unforgettable visual spectacle.
- Community Giving: The Holiday Train emphasizes the importance of giving back. In addition to CPKC’s donations, attendees are encouraged to contribute to their local food banks by bringing cash or food donations to help families in need.
