Bear Creek Lights is the early bird of Metro Vancouver’s Christmas lights. While most displays are still being strung up, Surrey’s Bear Creek Park lights its gardens in early November for a one-kilometre evening walk past glowing displays. It’s free, it’s an easy loop for little legs, and for more than a decade it’s been how a lot of Surrey families start the season.

How to Get Your Free Ticket
You need a ticket to get in, even though it’s free:

- By phone at 604-501-5100, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

What the Walk Is Like
The lights follow a one-kilometre loop through the park’s gardens, a little over half a mile, so it’s manageable with young kids and strollers. The City describes it as safe, accessible and family-friendly. It doesn’t list step-free routes or pet rules, so contact the City if you have questions.
