Visiting Gingerbread Lane

The 2026 Gingerbread Lane Contest
The contest invites people to build their own gingerbread creation and share it with visitors at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. There are three categories:
- Professional: for anyone who earns income from baking, pastry or culinary work. The organizers say that if you earn income from baking, even $1, you should enter as Professional.
- Amateur: for hobby bakers and individuals who do not earn income from baking or pastry.
- School: for secondary schools in the Lower Mainland.
New for 2026: Entry Selection by Draw
Because of high demand, participants are selected through a draw process in 2026. You can apply any time during the application period, which ends October 29. Applicants are emailed after each draw, and anyone not selected stays in consideration for the later draws. The draws are on September 25, October 16 and October 30.

- Before November 28: create your gingerbread creation.
- November 29 and 30, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM: set-up.
- December 2: photography and judging.
- December 3, 5:30 PM: opening reception (invite only).
