Head east from Vancouver at Christmas and the events get bigger and the crowds get smaller. Langley has two of the region’s major ticketed light shows. Abbotsford and Chilliwack have lit-up downtowns, evening parades and a shop that sells nothing but Christmas. Harrison lights its whole lakeshore. It’s an easy day trip, and a good excuse for a night away.
Langley
- Glow Gardens Langley, November 19 to January 2 (closed Sundays): more than a million lights with large indoor sections, markets and live entertainment.
- Merry & Bright at Martini Town, November 20 to December 31: a film backlot dressed as a snowy small town, with Santa in the gazebo and falling snow. Timed tickets only.
- Holiday Lights in Williams Park: a free drive-through that needs advance registration. 2026 dates not announced.
- Christmas tree farms: Langley has more cut-your-own farms than anywhere else in the region.
